Casio G-Shock GMW-B5000V Aged IP Full-Metal Watch Hands
If you love to wear a watch, then here comes the new Casio G-Shock GMW-B5000V.
Japan’s Casio enjoyed in such a great amount of progress with the 2018 G-Shock GMW-B5000 watches (aBlogtoWatch hands-on here). As a result, buyers were unable to find them accessible in retail stores. I recall an occasion at a watch retailer the previous summer where the single GMW-B5000 watch available was sold soon after the event opened. I’ve personally scouted numerous Casio retailers around the globe over the last year and, to be sure, found that the GMW-B5000 was somewhat of a ghost — and for good reason.
What Casio did so well made a mature yet hip version of a center G-Shock look that such a significant number of people are after. 2019 keeps on observing Casio attempt to increase production to satisfy the need for the GMW-B5000 watches and, in the meantime, they offer another “aged IP” kind of this all-metal G-Shock as the ref. GMW-B5000V (GMW-B5000V-1).
This is one of the first “pre-mature” Casio watches I’ve seen. Japan’s design culture absolutely loves vintage-style or appealingly matured goods, but as far as I know, Casio hasn’t yet truly turned out with whatever fits that trend. Here we see Casio apply an “artificial aging” technique to the black ion-plated coating over the base steel case and matching bracelet. Casio comments that the GMW-B5000V experiences “proprietary aging processing to give a vintage look.” That quite well totals up what this kind of the GMW-B5000 “full metal” G-Shock watch is about.
Let’s talk about how it looks
Visually, the GMW-B5000V looks cooler than its description may recommend. From multiple points of view, having a pre-aged timepiece is abnormal for Casio. It doesn’t fit with the indestructible theme of the G-Shock watch family. And also it doesn’t generally agree with the modern and technological sensibilities of the brand. All things considered, this out-of-character item is extraordinary looking in person and is surely truly popular. I truly would prefer not to see Casio pumping out “aging processed” watches. Yet on the off chance that they produce something like the GMW-B5000V on occasion, I figure it could make a lot of sense for the brand and its fans.
Do you know why this Casio G-Shock GMW-B5000V became so popular?
What made the GMW-B5000 collection so popular.? In any case, was Casio’s skillful mixture of common sense and quality (along with price). The GMW-B5000V-1 is at the top of the price range for the collection at $1,000. Yet at the same time speaks to an excellent value when you contrast it with the pre-aged vintage-style watches offered by numerous luxury brands. Zenith, for example, does a pretty nice job with its pilot watch collection — if you want to spend at least several thousand dollars more for a watch.
At its best, the GMW-B5000V resembles a G-Shock rediscovered from the 1980s, yet for now. The squared case shape, screen design, and bracelet all feel like elements of 1980s Casio. But this is a high-end G-Shock item complete with a well-polished and – structured case, DLC-coated case back (not aged), and a Bluetooth-associated solar-powered digital quartz movement. Talking about Bluetooth, it is a flat out joy to control your G-Shock watch with the G-Shock Connected application. I prescribe that for any individual who hasn’t tried it yet and gets one of today’s Bluetooth associated G-Shock items.
Despite the fact that the GMW-B5000V has a “full metal” structure, it includes all the designing and case construction techniques. Important to offer the class-defining solidness of a G-Shock watch (counting 200 meters of water resistance and massive shock protection). The majority of that sits within the watch, offering a quality user experience. While the appealing and nostalgic case shape and negative (dark) LCD screen add to the hip aged look of the case and bracelet. This isn’t the Casio G-Shock GMW-B5000 watch for everybody. Except as a one of a kind and trendy flavor, the pre-aged G-Shock GMW-B5000V-1 is a strong decision. Price is $1,000 USD.
